Brazilian skater Augusto Akio finished 4th in Skateboard Park at X Games Japan 2023, missing the podium by just .34 points in his strongest X Games appearance to date. 2023 was a breakout year for him: he finished 2nd at the 2023 World Skate Park Championships in Sharjah, UAE; 2nd at the Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile; and 1st at the STU Open stops in Cariciuma (March 2023) and Sao Paulo (September 2023). Known for his positive energy, and also for his juggling skill: at X Games Japan he did a juggling routine for the fans at the top of the course just seconds before dropping in for his 4th place run. Also competes in Skateboard Vert and is a strong street skater.
